GOD HAS A PLAN FOR YOU – A TIME FOR YOU FOR SUCH A TIME AS THISLast Wednesday Night by Brett Chapman On the basic story of Esther: Saul was told to destroy all of the Amalekites – he saved the king as a prisoner The descendant of that person is HAMAN in the story of Esther – Note: the sin of Saul created a major problem for his descendants. Haman felt disrespected by Mordecai at the city gate. He then tricked the king into allowing him to do whatever he wanted. He decided to have all the Jews killed. Esther was chosen by the King to be his wife and she now has the ear of the king, but she could be killed if she approached him without being requested. Mordicai is asking her to go to the king and plead the case of the Jews. Esther is afraid to go to the king and Mordecai shared this. Est 4:14 “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?” What “such a time” is God preparing you for? How to prepare for your “time”. 1. Don’t think of yourself. Est 4:13 Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews. Things that you might find as an escape from doing what God wants for you. “Good” is not good enough if it isn’t God’s BEST. Mat 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Php 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, We don’t have to do bad things to be sinning Doing or having ANYTHING outside of God’s will is sin We live in “safe” zones because we don’t want to be uncomfortable. The problem is, some of what we see as “safe zones” are actually traps to pull us away from what is designed to bring us comfort Act 9:31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied. Rom 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. 2Co 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; When we are comforted, we are put in a position to comfort those around us. 2Co 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 2. Don’t think God’s plans won’t be fulfilled without you. Est 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? You are not the key to any of God’s plans – HE IS Mat 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. God can/will find someone else if you fail to follow His plan Act 1:25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED TO JUDAS!!!!!! 3. God’s plan is meant to bring blessings and a perfect plan to your life. Not following His plan will lead to destruction. Est 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? God is gracious in allowing us to serve Him Heb 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: 4. What plan are you destroying by not following His leading/plan for your life? 1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, GOD HAS A PLAN FOR YOU – A TIME FOR YOU. WHAT IS THAT PLAN AND WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO DO IN SERVING GOD TO MAKE THAT PLAN A REALITY? Discussion Questions 1. What can we see as “good” but doesn’t fit with God’s BEST? 2. Is there a “safe” zone you won’t leave for even God? 3. What are we pressured to do/not do by others that may not be God’s will for us? 4. When you think of a time you did not do as God asked, how did you feel after you realized you said “no” to God? 5. What plan is God calling you to and you are resisting? ChillsPort goes Old SchoolOn Friday November 14th ChillsPort (an outreach event) will be going to Twin Bridges Campground. Our goal at ChillsPort is to have students invite their friends that do not have a church to come and get to know the people in our ministry. If students could let us know if they plan on attending that would help us prepare the right amount of food.

Pastor Mike Sanders More than one million households declare bankruptcy each year. More people now go bankrupt each year in America than graduate from colleges and universities. The U. S. census bureau says, “Over 62% of Americans retire on annual incomes below $10,000.” The Wall Street Journal reports, “Nearly 70% of all consumers live from paycheck to paycheck…” These stats remind us that many people make too many mistakes with money. David Thoreau once observed, “Almost any man knows how to earn money, but not one in a million knows how to spend it.” What kind of mistakes do we make in finances? 1. Trying to get rich quick (Proverbs 28:20 KJV) “A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.” 2. Not living within your means. Ninety percent of people in our culture buy things they can’t afford. (Proverbs 21:20 KJV) “There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.” 3. No communication about money. Numerous studies confirm that money is the leading cause of divorce today. 4. Impulse buying. (Proverbs 14:29 KJV) “He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.” 5. Getting into too much debt. (Psalms 37:21 KJV) “The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.” 6. Refusing to budget. (Proverbs 27:23 KJV) “Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.” 7. Failing to save for the future. (Proverbs 6:6-11 KJV) Day 13 Be FaithfulPastor Mike Sanders 1 Corinthians 4:2 KJV
“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
Six months after the owner of a small crossroads store was appointed Postmaster, not one piece of mail had left the village. When deeply concerned postal officials from Washington D. C. investigated, and asked why? The local Postmaster explained, “It’s simple; the bag ain’t full yet!”
Today our bags don’t have to be full for us to share some of our blessings with others. We don’t have to be in perfect health to serve others through our church. We don’t need to be literary geniuses to write an encouraging note to a lonely person. We don’t have to be a professional musician to lift our voices in song to our Lord. We don’t have to be a talented orator to share the love of Jesus with a child. We don’t have to be a movie star to brighten the lives of others by giving a loving smile. We don’t have to be a VIP in the eyes of the world to be a genuine Christian friend. And we don’t have to be wealthy to give a portion of God’s resources to expand His love & grace through the ministry of our Church family. Don’t wait for your bag to be full before you give! Day 12 Following God’s DirectionDr. Pete Rathel 2 Corinthians 8:1-12 I know that giving is not the most popular subject for most Christians and really I do not understand that. Giving to God is and should be a joy. If you read closely the passage that we are using today you see some really important words. Look at several phrases:
Verse 1 - “The Grace of God” - Folks, nothing is more important in our lives than the Grace of God. Without it we are not saved. Without it we cannot live. Without it we are really among all men most miserable.
Verse 2 - “A great trial of affliction” - These people were more than poor. They had nothing yet they were willing to give to help get the Gospel of God out to others. They were so thankful for having received the Grace of God that they wanted, at any price, to share it with others.
Verse 3 - “And beyond their power” - If we are going to be faithful, then we need to use the power of God and let Him empower us to go beyond that which we think as possible, because all things are possible with God. (Philippians 4:13)
Verse 4 - “but first gave their own selves to the Lord:” This is essential if we are going to be effective for God. We must first yield our hearts TOTALLY to Him so that He and He alone can work through us to show the Grace of God.
Verse 5 - “Now therefore perform the doing of it;” It is not just enough to know that it is right, we must do what is right. The Bible tells us, “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” (James 4:17) Therefore we need to perform the doing of it as God has instructed us. When we look at stewardship, it is giving, giving of one’s time, talents, love, tithe, offerings and everything that God expects of us. The question you must ask yourself is this, “Am I willing to do what others have done for me so that someone can hear the Good News of God’s Word? Day 11 How to Prepare for a Miracle Pastor Mike Sanders In the story of the little boy and the five loaves, we see how God prepares us to accomplish a miracle through us. First we must… Admit You Have A Need For A Miracle. Vs 34-37 God won’t help you until you admit you need help. What are you asking God to do that only He can do?
Find Out What You Have To Work With. Vs 38-40 Two Questions to ask. What do I have? What am I doing with it? God always starts with what I have when he wants to do a miracle. Has God ever asked you to do something that is humanly impossible?
Give God Whatever You Have. Vs 41 He asked them to give what they had. When the disciples searched and discovered only one boy who had 5 loaves and 2 fishes — they asked him to give it to Jesus. (John 6:9) Jesus took that small amount of food and used it to create abundance. God will use whatever I give Him. God doesn’t want what you have, he wants what it represents - your heart.
Expect God to Multiply What You Give Him. Vs 42-43 Whatever I give God, He gives me more back. While we’re waiting for God to do something for us, He is waiting to do something in us and through us.
